Come and enjoy these young actors, including Risa’s son, Hayden, in this comedy about friendship all different ways. Elwood P. Dowd is a wealthy drunk who starts having visions of a giant rabbit named Harvey. Elwood lives with his sister Veta and her daughter, and Veta worries that Elwood has gone insane. In the process of trying to have him committed, Veta admits that she occasionally sees Harvey herself. The director of the mental home, Dr. Chumley, tries to reconcile his duty to help Elwood with his own growing experiences with Harvey. Tickets will be $ 10. Gentle Yoga

Gentle Yoga is a 45 minute class that will leave you feeling stretched and rejuvenated. This class will include some meditation followed by a series of floor exercises (so bring a mat or large towel please), standing postures, balancing postures, and finish in Savasana (a yogic term for Relaxation). Gentle Yoga has been known to reduce swelling in joints, increase mobility, improve balance and stability, aid in digestion and better quality of sleep, among many more benefits that will allow you to be proactive with your health and wellness. Beginning Spanish

Have you ever wanted to learn another language? Have you spoken Spanish in the past but have forgotten vocabulary and verb conjugations? It’s your lucky day! We will be using Amazon’s “Great Courses” videos which are taught by a Professor from Alabama University. We will stop during the 45 minute sessions and practice what is being taught that day. Knife Sharpening Event with Scotty from the Blade Doktor

Be sure NOT TO MISS this great opportunity to have your knives sharpened! Scotty returns to Concordia to help you get ready for the holidays! When brining your knives, please keep them in the block or if you do not have a block, carefully wrap them in a towel to transport to the Event Center. Please label your towel or block so there is no question whose knife is whose. Charges for sharpening are: $5 for blades over 4”, $3 for blades under 4”. He will give a deal of $20 for any 5 knives. Calling all want-to-be artists or already working artists!!! This class is for ANYONE who loves art and would be interested in creating a work of art in a 2 hour period right in your community! This is our way of helping to keep our Concordia family safe in your homes. Every month each Concordia resident may participate in a FREE Wellness screening which will be performed by a trained Wellness Coordinator. This process only takes 10-15 minutes, but the benefits can last a lifetime. You will sign up for your screening and this will report any areas of health and wellness concern. Grief/Loss Support Group

We are SO lucky to have a retired Psychiatric Nurse, Group grief support facilitator in our very own Pat Burgbacher at the helm. She brings decades of experience and practice to this group and will prove to be a wonderful asset as she helps us understand the grieving process and helps us explore different things each of us can do to help ourselves or others through this process. This is a peer support group, led by a wonderful neighbor who has some background and experience in this subject and we are friends getting together to listen, give a hug, suggest what might have helped them, etc …No need to sign up, just come and be a good listener and a warm shoulder.

Active Minds presents “Ukraine”

Seventy years of Soviet control of Ukraine ended in 1991 with the collapse of the Soviet Union. During that time Ukraine suffered extensive famines, deportation of its citizens, and repopulation of its country by ethnic Russians. After independence, Ukraine aligned more with the west, resulting in escalating tension between ethnic Russians and Ukrainians. In 2014, Russia annexed the Crimea region of Ukraine, fueling an ongoing low-level civil war fed by Russian influence. This past April Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko was defeated by Volodymyr Zelensky, an actor/comedian who played the President in a popular television show. Join Active Minds as we review the history, present issues, and future challenges of this former Soviet satellite country.

Neyhybel was a master of the concert band repertoire, and “Trittico” is one of his most famous works for concert band, both intriguing and challenging for player and listener alike!
